Credits are how Klamdo measures output — across the studio and the API.

The same credit pool covers direct studio use and agent-driven package generation. Every generation type has a fixed cost so your agent can budget programmatically.

1 image = 3 credits

200 credits on Starter = about 66 images per month.

1 video = 6 credits

200 credits on Starter = about 33 videos per month.

Packages = 40–155 credits

Agentic packages reserve credits upfront and refund any unused amount if a subtask fails. Estimated cost is visible before you commit.

What counts as a credit?

Each image uses 3 credits. Each video uses 6 credits. Agentic packages reserve 40–155 credits depending on package type and which subtasks are included. Text outputs like scripts and captions are included inside package cost — they do not add extra.

Does the API use the same credits?

Yes. Credits are shared across the studio UI, the REST API, and the MCP server. There is no separate API billing — same pool, same costs.

How do I get my API key?

Go to your profile after signing in. Your API key is listed there. Pass it as a Bearer token in the Authorization header, or set the KLAMDO_API_KEY environment variable for the MCP stdio server.

What happens when credits run out?

You can buy a top-up pack anytime during the billing cycle. Top-up credits are added instantly and stack on your existing balance. Package creation returns a 402 error if credits are insufficient — no partial charges.

Do credits roll over?

Monthly plan credits reset each billing cycle. Top-up credits carry forward until used.

What if a generation fails?

Failed generations and failed package subtasks automatically return credits. You are never charged for output you did not receive.

Can I upgrade or downgrade?

Yes. Switch plans anytime from your profile. Changes take effect at your next billing cycle. Upgrading unlocks additional package types immediately.
